Youth Ministry presentation on the "Talk on Human Sexuality”
Last January, over 100 teens attended the Diocesan Youth Ministry presentation on the “Theology of the Body”. Mr. Damon Owens from New Jersey, U.S.A. spoke to the youth about being happy and valuing human sexuality in today’s society and culture. He spoke with great enthusiasm and humor to a very attentive audience. Most of the teens found him to be good and that he gave them a lot to think about.
Br. Ed Benson, C.R. is doing follow-up presentations that allow for discussion with teens from the six Parishes here in Bermuda. Br. Ed is speaking on the topic of “Teen Spirituality and Sexuality” and discusses with the teens their perceptions and concerns.
Mount St. Agnes presents modern "Stations of the Cross"
Mount St. Agnes Gr. 8 Religion class presented a version of the Stations of the Cross in the form of “Shadows”. While on the stage in the Auditorium, the students stood as statues depicting each station at a time with a flood light shinning onto them which was seen by as shadows by the Elementary School classes viewing the Stations on the other side of a sheet which functioned as a screen. The presentation was extremely well received as an opportunity to reflect on the sufferings of Christ and the joy of the 15th Station, the Resurrection.
The Gr. 9 Religion class also presented the Station in the form of contemporary pictures depicting human suffering similar to what Christ experienced. The High School students used this as their Lenten reflection also.
The wording for the Stations and the prayers for each Station were written by the students. |
